Hello to sensei Gudo Nishijima, from Mark Foote in Petaluma, CA- I know you are moving your residence, I wish you the best with that and hope that this comment finds you successfully at home. I read your comment at the end of the "samadhi" blog comments about losing remarks by persons associated with Kobun Chino Otogawa- I mentioned Kobun in my comment on your Shikantaza blog.

I have a new writing, up on the web as "an unauthorized and incomplete guide to zazen". You can google and find it, if you are interested. My excitement is wearing off a little, thank you for your caution about that.

I don't fully understand your use of ANS, PNS, SNS, but like you I make an explanation of cessation and of the ordinary nature of the end of suffering through the language of science. I could not have done this without the cranial-sacral osteopathic work of Dr. John Upledger, I recommend his work to you.

thank you again for your work in extending an open hand to the west; yours, Mark

Dear Roshi,

I hope that you had a successful move.

When sitting in Zazen, what should one do when they have an itch or feel the need to move in some way?

Regards,

Al

Dear Uku San,

I have moved my residence from Takashimadaira to Mejiro, and so I will begin Dogen Sangha Blog soon.

Dear Smoggyrob San,

I have changed my residence already, amd so I will begin Dogen Sangha Blog again.

Dear Ven. Mark Foote,

Thank you very much for your sincere approach to Dogen Sangha Blog. My sccessor Ven. Brad Warner also belong to the lineage of Master Kobun Chino too, and so we are much related with each other. Therefore I have been keeping my hope to have a contact with your group if there were any kind of chance, and I would like to have such kind of hope exactly. Therefore I would like to ask the Preasent Brad Warner's opinion about it as soon as posible.

I have heard the name of Dr. John Upledger for the first time, and so I feel that I should learn his theory too.

Anyway I think that we have possibility for us to cooperate together for promoting Buddhism cooperatively.

Dear Al San,

When we are practicing Zazen, if we have an itch or feel the need to move in some way, we should cure it for example by scratching, and so force for making it comfortable.
